What is the Iron Pitch 360° training system?
In collaboration with USYS and Premier League academy coaches, our 360° technical and performance training system is designed to develop elite level soccer players with technical mastery and athletic ability that translates directly to the pitch. On the technical side, players get 100s of touches per session with emphasis on all aspects of the technical game. On the performance side, players get faster, stronger, and more explosive while developing proper technique and mechanics.
What does an Iron Pitch player look like?
With consistent year-round training in our system, Iron Pitch players will stand out from their peers with technical mastery and physical ability. They can twist and turn with the ball at their feet, control the ball with precision in the air, and resist the most relentless amount of defensive pressure. They constantly scan the field, move without the ball, and receive and turn up field with ease. With a loaded toolbox of feints and turns, they manipulate defenders, break lines, and create in the attack. In short, the Iron Pitch player is a complete 360° player who stands out on the pitch in all phases of the game.
What ages and skill levels do we train?
We are currently training ages 7 and up from beginners to elite. Players are grouped by skill level with training sessions offered accordingly.
Do I need to make a reservation?
Not at this time. We have sessions available 7 days a week and there is currently no need to reserve or plan ahead. Upon your arrival, you will check in with our training staff to begin your session. You can use your sessions anytime during your monthly billing cycle, just remember sessions do not roll over to the next month.
What are the pricing options?
Training sessions can be purchased individually, in a pack, or with a monthly plan. You can find more information about options and pricing below.
Is there a long-term commitment for monthly plans?
No, we make it easy to come and go based on your individual scheduling needs. You can downgrade or cancel your plan at the end of any billing period, and you can always reactivate at a future date without having to pay an activation fee again. Please submit the online form for membership change requests.
Is there a free trial option?
We don't offer a free trial, however single sessions and monthly plans are available at an affordable price. If this is your first time training with us, please purchase a single session or monthly plan and sign the liability waiver prior to arrival.
Do we offer private sessions?
Some of our coaches may offer their own private sessions for players and small groups who are seeking an even deeper level of individualized training and analysis. Private sessions are purchased and performed with the individual coach, not with Iron Pitch.
What should I wear and bring?
Flat sole or indoor turf shoes only, please. A water bottle is optional. Shin guards are recommended but not required.
What are the stages of player development?
As Arsene Wenger famously explained, player development is like building a house. Only with a strong foundation of technical ability can you start to build the rest of the house with physical ability, tactical understanding, and mental fortitude.
Can smaller players reach the highest levels?
The average height of a Premier League midfielder or attacker is around 5'11" with players coming in all shapes and sizes. Time and again, smaller players have proven they can dominate at the highest level. Their lower center of gravity gives them an edge in tight spaces, allowing for quicker turns and better control. In the end, what really matters for a soccer player is explosiveness, technical ability, and mindset - not size.
How do we train speed?
In the simplest terms, speed comes from hip flexion (forward motion) and hip extension (downward motion). To get faster, an athlete must produce more force in both directions. Our advanced speed program trains the muscles that produce the force while emphasizing the importance of proper mechanics and consistent exposures. Want to start learn more about speed? A great place to start is Les Spellman's trailblazing podcast - "Can you make someone faster?"
When should kids start strength training?
Contrary to popular myth, a carefully designed strength program can start at any age. For our younger athletes, we emphasize light resistance and proper technique, building a foundation of strength and explosiveness for the future.
Why do we care so much about hamstrings?
Apart from the obvious relationship to speed and explosiveness, studies show that youth soccer players exhibit strength imbalance of the hamstrings to quadriceps which limits overall performance and increases risk of injury. Good news is that targeted strength training can correct the imbalance.
Is your player stretching enough?
Most team coaches incorporate some level of dynamic warmup before training which is very important for increasing blood flow and preparing the body for complex movements. What is often missing, however, is the static stretching for faster recovery, enhanced flexibility, improved athletic ability, and injury prevention. Not at Iron Pitch. We stretch after every session.
How much training do we recommend?
For the most serious players, we recommend 4-5 days a week of technical and team training and/or games, with periodic breaks to rest and recharge. Our flexible and cost effective training system allows you to stay consistent and manage your breaks with ease. As we like to say, when repetition becomes conviction, that's when the magic starts to happen!

THE IRON PITCH ADVANTAGE
"Youth Soccer in America is a disaster."
- Landon Donovan, USMNT
To be clear, the problem isn't a lack of talent. The problem is structural. Throughout most of the world, there is a professional academy in every small town that invests in the development of players and coaching. Not so much in the USA. At least not yet.
So how do we level the playing field within the constraints of the current American system?
Simply put, we stop caring so much about winning games and we start emphasizing the technical mastery and physical explosiveness required to reach the highest levels of the game.
At Iron Pitch, we are transforming the journey of player development - making elite soccer and performance training more convenient, more affordable, and within reach for players of all levels.
Get sharper. Get faster. Get stronger. All in one place!
